How does a major emerging economy with one of the most carbon intensive industrial bases promote growth, create jobs and maintain its competitive edge while managing scare finances and balancing competing domestic priorities?

That was the challenge the South Africa Renewables Inititative (SARi) - a government-led task-force of domestic and international experts - was tasked with solving.  The solution requires incentivizing private investors and industry to help develop South Africa’s world-class solar and wind resources while ensuring adequate external funding is found to support government incentives and bank lending.


2°Capital Advisors was hired to conduct an indepent due diligence review of SARi’s analytics and assumptions around project costs and potential financing structures in advance of the UNFCCC COP16 in Cancun, Mexcio.
